Thanks to several friends who have been posting Lent resources on their Facebook pages, below you will find a Lent message on fasting from Pope Francis, a video with a twist on fasting and a very lovely and complete devotional booklet in the Lutheran tradition.
One of the ways that I keep myself accountable to my daily time in the Word is through Scripture Writing. I find that if I am writing down the passage that I am studying it really helps me stay focused on the words rather than letting my mind wander to my to-do list or solving world hunger. I tried to find a Scripture Writing template for Lent, but instead I found one that takes us through March with passages about Jesus. What could be more appropriate for Lent than digging into who Jesus was and is? Whether you are a terminal multitasker like me, a kinesthetic learner or just open to trying a new way to study the Bible, why not try writing out these passages on a daily basis this month.
Click below for a wonderful list of Lenten readings and reflections from a wide variety of Christian traditions. Use one (or several!) of these to guide you through this special season. Please comment on any reflections which you find particularly humbling or inspiring so others can share the experience. Feel free to add other resources in a comment as well.
